School Uniform

The wearing of school uniform is supported strongly by the AQ khan School and is a symbol of pride in the school. There is an expectation that students will comply with the dress requirements and that valuable school time will not need to be diverted to following up on breaches of school uniform policy.

The wearing of school uniform is compulsory. Parents indicate their support of the school uniform policy on their child’s enrolment form.

Pre Primary

White cotton school shirt – full button (not soft collar ‘polo’ type) with logo. In colder weather a plain white T-shirt or roll-neck top can be worn under the shirt for extra warmth. Scarves and religious headwear must be white in color

For girls: Navy blue skirt. Skirts must be worn at a modest length.
For boys: Navy blue pants (for boys).

Blue and white strip tie (for boys).

Primary and Secondary

For girls: White and blue checked cotton school shirt with logo. In colder weather a plain white T-shirt or roll-neck top can be worn under the shirt for extra warmth. Scarves and religious headwear must be white in color

Exemptions / Non-compliance with Uniform Policy

Students who are unable to meet the Uniform Policy on any particular day must bring a note from a parent explaining the reasons for non-compliance. This is to be handed in to Student Council before the start of school. A Student Council staff member will determine whether or not a student is allowed to attend school.

Health and Safety

Students will be issued with a Health and Safety policy in the Design & Technology, Home Economics and Science departments. This may include appropriate closed footwear, protective clothing, safety goggles etc.

Special Uniforms

(eg taekwondo)
These uniforms are not to be worn in school time except where endorsed by the school board.

Excursions

Unless otherwise stated, students will be expected to wear full school uniform on excursions.

Physical Education and Sport Attire

Pre Primary

Navy blue trousers and yellow polo shirt with school logo. Appropriate footwear (eg sports shoes) and hats (if outside) must be worn during all physical education sessions. Physical Education attire is not to be worn during other classes.

Primary

Navy blue trousers and royal blue polo shirt with school logo.. Appropriate footwear (eg sports shoes) nd hats (if outside) must be worn during all physical education sessions. Physical Education attire is not to be worn during other classes.

Secondary

Navy blue trousers and red polo shirt with school logo.. Appropriate footwear (eg sports shoes) and hats (if outside) must be worn during all physical education sessions. Physical Education attire is not to be worn during other classes.
